Head Instructor:            Sensei Marisol Acosta, Sho Dan (1st Dan Black Belt)

Sensei Marisol believes that martial arts is a way of life that leads to a more balanced, healthier life through a continuous growth and search for personal excellence with a commitment to the respect of life, nature and compassion.  She started practicing Taifu Shoi Karate Do in the year 1994 under the teachings of Master Shihan Pedro Trilla Jr and Sempai Belen Trilla in Caguas, Puerto Rico until the year 1997. During the 1990’s decade she competed at the national and international levels representing Puerto Rico, the country she was born in, and earning top places in martial arts tournaments such as the US Open Martial Arts Championship and the Puerto Rico Martial Arts Championship. In 1996 she move to Texas and in 2002 she moved back to Puerto Rico and studied under Renshi Marie Miranda. As a brown belt she practiced under the teachings of Renshi Marie Miranda, Renshi Arline Osuna and Renshi Miriam Herrero.  After Renshi Marie Miranda moved to the state of North Carolina where she now practices Tae Kwon Do and also has the rank of 3rd Degree Black Belt, she left the school to Marisol Acosta. Grand Master Tony Pabón authorized, Marisol Acosta to be the Head Instructor at the El Señorial Taifu Shoi Karate Do School (Dojo T-2) in San Juan, Puerto Rico until the year 2006 when she moved back to Texas.

In addition to Taifu Shoi Karate Do, Sensei Marisol has practiced other Chinese Martial Arts. She studied and practiced Ying Jow Pai (Northern Eagle Claw Kung Fu) under Sifu Xavier in Guayama, Puerto Rico. She has studied Tai Chi Chen Style in the Shaolin Temple in Houston, Texas under the Master Dasifu Shin de Chan (31st generation monk of the Shaolin Temple in China) and has studied Tai Chi Yang Style under Master David Pickens at the Central Texas Kung Fu School in Round Rock, Texas.

She currently holds a 1st Degree Black Belt in Taifu Shoi Karate Do and is the only approved instructor Head Instructor by the Grand Master Hanshi Tony Pabon, 10th Dan in the state of Texas.

She is a Board Approved Licensed Professional Counselor and Clinical Supervisor by the Texas Board of Licensed Professional Counselors.  She holds a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of Puerto Rico and a Masters of Education in Counseling from the University of Houston. She is a specialist in the area of mental health trauma and helps people with mental illness, with common daily life problems, family problems and stress management. She is a member of the Pflugerville Community Emergency Response Team (CERT Team) and has served in the US Naval Reserves.  She is trained and currently certified in CPR and First Aid.

Adjunct Instructor:            Renshi Arline Osuna, 3rd Dan Black Belt

Renshi Arline is a Master Level Sensei in Taifu Shoi Karate Do. She started practicing Taifu Shoi Karate Do under Renshi Pedro Trilla Jr in the year 1988.  She was an Instructor under Renshi Pedro’s Dojo (D-1) for more than a decade.  She is a former member of the Women’s Sparring Team of Taifu Shoi Karate Do. She is a Chemist and a specialist in Food Quality Assurance. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Natural Sciences in Chemistry. She likes teaching the basics of karate and forms.
